What is a Duplex?
A duplex is a type of residential building that comprises two separate, self-contained living units within one structure. Typically designed to accommodate two households, each unit in a duplex includes essential living spaces such as a kitchen, bathroom(s), bedroom(s), and a living area. These units can be arranged side-by-side, sharing a common wall, or one above the other, sharing a floor or ceiling. Duplexes are popular in both urban and suburban areas for their efficient use of space and potential for generating rental income, as the owner may live in one unit while leasing the other.
